In most cases , the cost of a independent cleaner will be lower then the one you get from a professional service, making it the most attractive option if price is the only factor in your hiring decision. However, there are many other factors to consider, and you should evaluate the trade-offs you are making if you solely focus on price.

•   Reliability & Trust . One of the major benefits of a cleaning company is reliability. If a cleaner is on vacation leave or sick, the company should be able to cover your cleaning nonetheless. Independent cleaners can be reliable too However, if the independent cleaner is not available for any reason you will have to wait.

• If we speak about reliability, we also have to speak about trust. You should trust before letting someone inside your home and cleaners are no exception. We at Good Day Maid ensure cleaners are trustworthy by vetting them carefully and running a background check before taking them as employees. On the other hand , assuring that a independent cleaner is trust worthy, relies on you. To find the right cleaner for your home, you should: interview your options, ask for referrals , run background check, and establish a trial run.

• Insurance, bonded, taxes & liability.   A cleaning company takes care of all legal hassle. A cleaning company should have liability insurance that covers anyone from accidents or mishaps. Independent cleaners should have liability insurance too. but the cleaning company's insurance tends to have broader coverage, and sadly many independent cleaners DO NOT carry insurance!   It is equally important to hire a company who is bonded to cover any theft of property in your home.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          

Question 2  Will I have to report to the IRS ?

• Regarding taxes, both cleaning companies and independent contractors should take care of them.  However, when hiring an independent cleaner,  the IRS could determine that they are your employee. In this case, you'll have to fulfill the legal obligations of an employer.

• Workers Compensation. Yep , we cover that too!   Accidents happen . We've got that covered too, so have no fear... if our techs have an accident in your home we will not be looking to you to cover medical expenses.

• Efficiency & Training.... The cleaners efficiency depends on their skills and training. Cleaning companies select people with the proper capabilities and physical stamina to fulfill every cleaning task, and they train the cleaners before sending them into your home to perform their duties in a timely manner.  Good Day Maid has trained all of our cleaning techs in the #1 residential cleaning system in the world.... Solo cleaners are often self taught and can risk lack of knowledge about products, surfaces, and cleaning techniques. ( hey , that's how I started! )
